Scents of black cherries and raspberries mingle with loamy earth, cedar and dried spices on the nose of the 2021 Janzen Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. Full-bodied and concentrated, it manages to be more savory than fruity, though not lacking in fruit, with a supple framing of fine-grained tannins and a lingering, lip-smacking finish. It’s an excellent example of the variety and site.
