An example of the vintage handled well. Apricot, ginger, marzipan and white peach. Yet the wine never drifts into sweet fruited excess. Dry and salty. A skein of saline perk melds with a belt of mineral torque, keeping everything on the straight and narrow despite the broader shouldered extract that marks the address. Long and impactful.

The 2022 Vermentino di Gallura Superiore is wickedly fresh, opening with a burst of white smoke and stone dust invigorated by candied citrus and mint. It’s silky and supple, nearly oily in feel, with zesty acidity to balance and crisp orchard fruits that cascade throughout. This leaves a tinge of sour lime while finishing long yet remarkably fresh, with a green apple crunch punctuating the experience. Nicely done.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Janzen Cloudy’s Vineyard comes from an estate vineyard located in the Dutch Henry Canyon, situated between the Switchback and Hourglass vineyards. Ripe currants, blueberries, leafy tobacco, iron, and chocolate all emerge from the glass, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a focused, elegant mouthfeel, a terrific sense of freshness, and outstanding length.
