Charles Heidsieck Brut Rose Reserve
$59.99 – $300.00Champagne France

This bottle of the NV Rosé Réserve was based on the 2008 vintage, with the addition of 20% reserve wines and 5% or 6% of still red wine from Les Riceys in the Aube; it was disgorged in 2017, with 11 grams per liter dosage, meaning that it has spent longer sur lattes than most recent releases of Heidsieck's rosé. Salmon-pink in hue, it unfurls in the glass with a reserved bouquet of red berries, orange rind, brioche and gingerbread that will become more expressive with bottle age. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with brisk acids, a fine but vigorous mousse and a tight-knit, nicely concentrated core, concluding with a saline finish. This is one of the most tensile, age-worthy rosés that I can recall tasting from Charles Heidsieck. Drink through 2038.

Charles Krug 2022 Sauvignon Blanc
$17.99 – $102.00Napa Valley California
Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating
Vivid citrus aromas practically leap out of the glass before this lively wine lets lemon zest and grapefruit juice flavors dazzle the palate. Mouthwatering acidity and those bright fruit flavors are appetizing and compelling.

Charlie Clay 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
$49.99Sonoma County California
On the nose, aromas of black cherry flesh, river stone, crushed violent candy and tangerine rind comingle with delicate sweet-soil tones. On the palate, sweet red fruits, black truffle and a strong mineral vein get support from a core of polished tannins and freshness. This precise structure provides an element of tension and purpose. While just starting to show its layers of detail, this wine will drink beautifully over the next 5-8 years. Only 239 cases made. R17-3 -

Chateau Barreyres 2016 Bordeaux Blends Haut Medoc
$29.99 – $300.00Bordeaux France
James Suckling 90 Rating
Chateau Barreyres shows a sumptuous deep purple color. The nose opens with appealing aromas of fresh red fruit alongside classic features associated with well-managed aging. This is a fine, elegant Cru Bourgeois with a very pleasing profile, including good structure and a full body. The finish is remarkably persistent.

Chateau Batailley 2010 Grand Cru Pauillac
$169.99Bordeaux France
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. A strong performance from Batailley under blind conditions, easily surpassing its showing at the UGC in London last year. The 2010 has a very elegant bouquet with blackberry, cedar and leather, well defined and very nicely focused, though not the most vigorous amongst its peers. The palate is very well balanced with filigree tannins, perfectly judged acidity and a very appealing “classic” style of Pauillac very the top drawer. What a superb Pauillac – a benchmark Batailley. Chateau Bellefont Belcier 2016 St-Emilion Grand Cru
$69.99Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2016 Château Bellefont-Belcier was truly brilliant on all three occasions I was able to taste it, rating 95 twice and 97 once. Coming from a 13.5-hectare vineyard on the magical Côte Pavie (it’s right next door to Larcis-Ducasse) and a blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 80% new oak, it offers a black fruit-driven style as well as loads of black raspberries, black cherries, graphite, leafy herbs, and hints of incense. It's powerful, full-bodied, has building sweet tannins, and the rock star purity of fruit that's the hallmark of the vintage. It’s an awesome wine to drink over the coming 20-25 years. SP51-5 -
Chateau Bernard Magrez 2019 Red Blend
$32.99 – $168.00Saint-Estephe Bordeaux France
Decanter Magazine 94 Rating
33% Cabernet Sauvignon & 67% Merlot from the owners of Chateau Pape Clement. Vinified partly in oak barrel, partly in clay amphora, this is polished and finessed but actually more restrained than perhaps I was expecting. A serious wine, with an emphasis on tightly-knitted cassis fruits. An absolutely beautiful whoosh of juicy menthol comes in from mid palate onwards, and a tight tannic crush on the finish that suggests this is going to age well. It’s big shouldered, as all Magrez wines are, but this is a welcome addition to the St Estèphe landscape.

Chateau Beychevelle 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle
$49.99 – $270.00Saint-Julien Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
A rock star of a second wine already offering pleasure, the 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle checks in as 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that comes from the younger vines of the estate and slightly more sandy soils. This makes for a more up-front, fruit-driven wine that reveals a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous array of blueberries, black cherries, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and spring flowers. It's classic Bordeaux on the nose, yet has a wonderful sweetness of fruit, ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and just a balanced, seamless style that's ideal for enjoying over the coming 10-15 years.
