Chateau Maucoil 2018 Chateauneuf Du Pape Privilege
$59.99 – $600.00Southern Rhone Valley France
Jeb Dunnuck 92 Rating
The 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Privilege was also all destemmed and checks in as 50% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 12% Mourvèdre, and the balance Cinsault, Bourboulenc, Clairette, and other permitted varieties. Brought up in 30% new barrels, its similarly deep ruby/purple color is followed by classic notes of smoked black fruits, ground pepper, garrigue, violets, and rocky minerality. Despite the new oak, it has a relatively classic style, both in its aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, it offers solid mid-palate depth, building tannins, and a great finish. This is another terrific, outstanding wine from this estate that’s going to have a long life. It can be drunk today with plenty of pleasure or cellared for 10-12+ years or more.

A juicy, generous wine full of black fruits, this is still young but showing well. The fruits and ripe tannins partner well to make up the structure.

Chateau Maurac 2018 Red Blend Haut Medoc
$29.99 – $150.00Bordeaux France
Wine Enthusiast 92 Rating
A 24-acre vineyard close to Saint-Estèphe has produced this rich and dense wine. Tannins give a solid base to generous black-plum and berry fruits. Initially it seems as though this wine will develop quickly, but that is deceptive. With the tannic core and firm aftertaste, the wine will take its time. Drink from 2024.

Chateau Mauvesin Barton 2015 Moulis-en-Medoc
$29.99Bordeaux France
Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating
The fifth vintage from this estate since its purchase by the Barton family of Léoville Barton in Saint-Julien, this is a generous, structured wine. It has ripe black fruits in profusion that are held together by the serious layer of tannins. Rich and concentrated, the wine will age for many years. Drink from 2024. (Editor's Choice) SP56-9 -
Chateau Mauvesin Barton 2020 Red Blend Moulis-en-Medoc
$29.99 – $138.00Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 90 Rating
The 2020 Château Mauvesin Barton brings more density and depth, yet it still has a more mid-weight, forward, pretty, and elegant style. A blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, it offers up lots of red and black fruits, some spicy, dried herbs, and violet nuances, soft tannins, and a clean, lengthy finish. This balanced, elegant Moulis will keep for 10-12 years or more.

Chateau Monbousquet 2018 Red Blend St. Emilion
$79.99Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
Another brilliant vintage for this estate, which has been going from strength to strength over the past decade, the 2018 Château Monbousquet reveals a dense purple, opaque color as well as a rich yet lively bouquet of cassis, chocolate covered currants, new leather, and graphite. With sumptuous levels of fruit, full -bodied richness, and ample mid-palate depth, it's the purity of fruit as well as the quality of the tannin's that have brought this cuvée up another notch. Readers are going to love this cuvée, and it should keep for 15-20 years. SP55-4 -
Chateau Montelena 2005 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
$149.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is still rich and powerful, with Bordeaux-like notes of blackcurrants, tobacco leaf, damp earth, cedar, and dried herbs. Deep, rich, and beautifully textured, with balance and length, it has silky tannins, a layered, clean texture and a great finish. It's another balanced, oh, so classic wine. SP21-1 -
Chateau Montrose 2020 Saint-Estephe
$269.99Bordeaux France
Wine Advocate 100 Rating
Surpassing the 2019 and rivaling the 2016 as this estate’s finest vintage of the last few decades, the 2020 Montrose is a monument in the making. Wafting from the glass with aromas of violets, dark berries, licorice, loamy soil, black truffle and subtle spices, it’s full-bodied, deep and layered, with a seamless, elegantly muscular profile, terrific purity and energy, beautifully powdery tannins and a long, resonant finish. It checks in at 13.7% alcohol, the same as the superb 2009, but it is even deeper, more vibrant and more complex than the 2009. This will be worth a special effort to seek out and only confirms Montrose’s status as one of the contemporary Médoc’s leading estates and a de facto first growth. Best after 2030. SPBX-6 -
Chateau Moulin de Bernat 2020 Bordeaux Blend
$15.99 – $168.00Bordeaux France
Beautiful garnet color with brick reflections. Powerful nose of sour cherry, overripe red fruits, vanilla and spicy notes. Full and fleshy on the palate, supported by a well integrated tannic structure, which confers power and length, we find notes of strawberry jam on the palate.
