  • Cayuse 2016 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard

    $129.99

    Walla Walla Valley
    Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
The 2016 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard checks in as 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier that was fermented with roughly 70-80% stems and brought up in 15% new demi-muids and foudre. This beauty has incredible elegance and purity as well as full-bodied richness, complex notes of blackberry, cherries, stone hearth, decayed flowers, and salted meats, and a savory style that’s going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15 years or more. • Cayuse 2016 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard

    $139.99

    Walla Walla Valley
    Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
The 2016 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard is another winner (best to date?), showing an incredibly bloody, iron quality as well as beautiful purity in its bright cherry, blackberries, violets, pork fat, and acacia flower aromas and flavors. Seamless, silky, gorgeous, and perfectly balanced, it's another heavenly wine from Baron that’s going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise for 10-15. R10-2

  • Cayuse 2016 Syrah En cerise Vineyard

    $139.99

    Walla Walla Valley
    Jeb Dunnuck 94-97 Rating
The 2016 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard is another perfumed, complex Syrah. Black cherries, licorice, earth, charcoal, and roasted herb characteristics all flow to a rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated 2016 that has bright yet integrated acidity, fine tannin, and a big finish. It’s one of the fresher, juicier Syrahs in the lineup, yet packs plenty of fruit, and has a remarkable salinity on the finish. R34-2

  • Cayuse 2017 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard

    $139.99

    Walla Walla Valley
    Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
The only Syrah that includes some Viognier, the 2017 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard (this is the same site used for the Viognier) is always a great representation of the vintage as well as the wines of Christophe Baron. Ruby/purple-hued, with a rocking bouquet of black raspberries, smoked game, black pepper, and spring flowers, it has plenty of classic Rocks funkiness and meaty notes, medium to full body, a core of sweet fruit, and a great, great finish. It ranks with the top two to three wines in this vintage. It opens up nicely with time in the glass and shows well today, and it’s certainly going to cruise for 15+ years or more. R27-2

  • Cayuse 2019 Syrah En Chamberlin Vineyard

    $139.99

    Walla Walla Valley
    Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
Gorgeous Bing cherry and blueberry fruits as well as tobacco, peppery herbs, iron, and mushroom notes all emerge from the 2019 Syrah En Chamberlin Vineyard, another medium to full-bodied, incredibly seamless, flawlessly balanced Syrah in the lineup. I love the overall mix of savory, classic Rocks style with its beautiful core of fruit, and it has incredible tannins, beautiful balance, and a great, great finish. Flirting with perfection, this straight-up incredible Syrah will evolve nicely for 25 years or more. Best After 2022. SP19-2

  • Ceretto 2016 Barbaresco

    $59.99

    Piedmont Italy
    Wine Spectator 94 Rating
Bright cherry and strawberry fruit glides over a backbone of dusty tannins in this linear red. Balanced and harmonious, with a long aftertaste that shows floral, tobacco and spicy notes. Best from 2023 through 2043. SP44-2

  • Cervantes 2016 MMXVI Cabernet Sauvignon

    $128.99

    Napa Valley California
    Wine Advocate 96+ Rating
A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 MMXVI Cabernet Sauvignon gives up gregarious notions of warm red and black currants, black raspberries and warm plums with hints of chocolate mint, pencil shavings and tilled loam plus a waft of lilacs. Full-bodied and grainy, the palate is built like a brick house with super ripe tannins and bags of bold, expressive, multifaceted fruit, finishing very long and mineral-laced. 545 cases were made. • Chanson Pere & Fils 2019 Clos des Mouches Blanc Beaune Premier Cru

    $149.99

    Burgundy
    Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating
Whiffs of fresh-churned butter and honey introduce this powerfully ripe, sun-drenched Chardonnay. The fleshy, voluminous wine shows the heat of the 2019 vintage through concentrated flavors of Meyer lemon and Mirabelle plum. Matured in oak casks for 14 to 18 months (with some new oak), the opulent, spicy sip should drink at peak from 2024 to 2035. R46-2

  • Chapelle St. Theodoric 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Guigasse

    $99.99

    Southern Rhone Valley France
    Wine Advocate 95-97 Rating
Scents of roses, garrigue and blackberries mark the nose of the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape La Guigasse, still aging in demi-muids at the time of my visit. It's one of those special wines that manages to be full-bodied and concentrated, yet also pillowy-soft, nearly ethereal in the mouth. A bit more tannic and stern on the finish than the 2020 Le Grand Pin, it finishes long, with a lingering note of licorice. 100% Grenache. R18-5
