  • Purlieu 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges III Vineyard

    $199.99

    Napa Valley California
The 2017 vintage from Georges III shows exceptional energy and aromatic diversity. The nose suggests sweet red fruit and dried herbs, but the palate reveals a far more complex alchemy of black fruit, red velvet cake, cherries, and spice box aromas. Silky but structured, linear but unexpected, this fascinating wine will continue to unfold and develop with time in the cellar. SP23-1

  • Purlieu 2018 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard

Another heavenly wine is the 2018 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, which may be my favorite in the lineup. Sporting a deep purple color as well as a gorgeous perfume of crème de cassis, graphite, spring flower, crème brulée, and tobacco, it just glides across the palate with full-bodied richness, beautiful tannins, no hard edges, and that rare mix of elegance and power that only truly great wines possess. It's gorgeous today yet I see no reason it won't keep for at least 15-20 years. R41-1

The appellation 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a beauty and well worth seeking out for those who love up-front, opulent Napa Valley Cabernet. Lots of cassis, blueberries, violets, cedary herbs, and tobacco notes define the bouquet, and it's full-bodied, with a rounded, expansive texture, sweet tannins, and a beautiful finish. Drink this hedonistic, sexy beauty over the coming 10-15 years. SP30-5 BX-6

  • Purlieu 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges III Vineyard

A textbook expression of this site, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard boasts a deep purple/plum color to go with a darker, earthy bouquet of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, chocolate, and graphite. This carries to a full-bodied, deep, powerful wine that packs serious richness and depth while staying light and graceful, with a beautiful sense of elegance and purity. It’s a magical Cabernet from this vineyard that’s going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 25+ years or more. Hats off to winemaker Julien Fayard! SP31-11

  • Purlieu 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Missouri Hopper Vineyard

    $199.99

    Napa Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
Loads of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, gravelly earth, espresso, and chocolate notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard, a Graves-look alike that offers full-bodied richness, ripe, polished tannins, a dense, rich mid-palate, and a blockbuster of a finish. Reminding me of a great vintage from Smith Haut Lafitte, it can be drunk today or cellared for 20 years or more. R31-3 SP22-1

  • Purlieu Wines 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard

    $219.99

    Napa Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
Another brilliant wine in the lineup, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard comes from one of the Grand Cru vineyards in the Valley and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Its dense purple color is followed by classic, blockbuster To Kalon notes of blueberries, cassis, raspberries, flowery incense, unsmoked tobacco, and violets. This powerhouse of a Cabernet is full-bodied, has loads of ripe tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and a great finish. This vineyard performed exceptionally well in 2018, and this is a gorgeous, textbook expression of this terroir to enjoy over the coming two decades. BX-6 SP31-11

  • Quilceda Creek 2010 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

    $199.99

    Columbia Valley Washington State
    Wine Advocate 97 Rating
Even more concentrated, structured and dense than the Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard (99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot all from the Red Mountain AVA) delivers an incredible array of black currant, dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco and assorted spring flower-like nuances that give way to a massively concentrated, tannic and structured 2010 that has brilliant mid-palate depth, integrated acidity and a pure, detailed and energetic texture that carries through the finish. As with the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, this is more fun to taste than to drink presently and needs 5-6 years or more of bottle age to round into form. It too will have two to three decades or more of ultimate longevity. Drink 2018-2035. R6-1 SP25-1

More serious, and one of the wines of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has uncommon concentration and depth in the vintage, as well as a broad, structured profile that will allow it to age gracefully. Loaded with sweet creme de cassis, exotic spice, licorice and graphite, it’s a full-bodied, elegant and classically styled effort that has nothing out of place, fine, building tannin and a rock star finish. It will be approachable at an earlier stage than most vintages, yet still have two decades of longevity. R38-2 SP25-2

  • Quilceda Creek 2014 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

    $249.99

    Columbia Valley Washington State
    Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
The finest vintage ever for this cuvée, the utterly spellbinding 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard is 100% Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in new barrels. Slightly deeper and richer than the Columbia Valley Cabernet, its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a smorgasbord of graphite, crushed violets, crushed rocks, cassis and dark chocolate. With incredible richness, ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges and a stacked mid-palate, give this crazy good red 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy over the following two decades! Bravo to the team at Quilceda! SP29-6
