Purlieu 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges III Vineyard
$199.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
A textbook expression of this site, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard boasts a deep purple/plum color to go with a darker, earthy bouquet of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, chocolate, and graphite. This carries to a full-bodied, deep, powerful wine that packs serious richness and depth while staying light and graceful, with a beautiful sense of elegance and purity. It’s a magical Cabernet from this vineyard that’s going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 25+ years or more. Hats off to winemaker Julien Fayard! SP31-11 -
Purlieu 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Missouri Hopper Vineyard
$199.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
Loads of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, gravelly earth, espresso, and chocolate notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard, a Graves-look alike that offers full-bodied richness, ripe, polished tannins, a dense, rich mid-palate, and a blockbuster of a finish. Reminding me of a great vintage from Smith Haut Lafitte, it can be drunk today or cellared for 20 years or more. R31-3 SP22-1 -

Another brilliant wine in the lineup, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard comes from one of the Grand Cru vineyards in the Valley and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This vineyard performed exceptionally well in 2018, and this is a gorgeous, textbook expression of this terroir to enjoy over the coming two decades. BX-6 SP31-11 -
Quilceda Creek 2010 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
$199.99Columbia Valley Washington State
Wine Advocate 97 Rating
Even more concentrated, structured and dense than the Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard (99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot all from the Red Mountain AVA) delivers an incredible array of black currant, dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco and assorted spring flower-like nuances that give way to a massively concentrated, tannic and structured 2010 that has brilliant mid-palate depth, integrated acidity and a pure, detailed and energetic texture that carries through the finish. As with the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, this is more fun to taste than to drink presently and needs 5-6 years or more of bottle age to round into form. It too will have two to three decades or more of ultimate longevity. Drink 2018-2035. R6-1 SP25-1 -

More serious, and one of the wines of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has uncommon concentration and depth in the vintage, as well as a broad, structured profile that will allow it to age gracefully. Loaded with sweet creme de cassis, exotic spice, licorice and graphite, it’s a full-bodied, elegant and classically styled effort that has nothing out of place, fine, building tannin and a rock star finish. It will be approachable at an earlier stage than most vintages, yet still have two decades of longevity. R38-2 SP25-2 -
Quilceda Creek 2012 CVR Red Blend
$74.99Columbia Valley
Wine Advocate 93 Rating
A smoking effort that shows the beauty of the 2012 vintage, Golitzin’s 2012 CVR Colombia Valley Red Wine is made from a declassified blend of most Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller parts Merlot and Malbec. It’s offers a brilliant, almost Bordeaux-like, bouquet of sweet cassis, lead pencil shavings, graphite and hints of toast that flows to a full-bodied, layered, seamless Cabernet that has integrated acidity, sweet tannin and a great finish that doesn’t lack for richness or persistence. Already hard to resist, it will nevertheless continue to drink nicely for another decade or more. SP11-2 -
Quilceda Creek 2014 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
$249.99Columbia Valley Washington State
Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
The finest vintage ever for this cuvée, the utterly spellbinding 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard is 100% Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in new barrels. Slightly deeper and richer than the Columbia Valley Cabernet, its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a smorgasbord of graphite, crushed violets, crushed rocks, cassis and dark chocolate. With incredible richness, ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges and a stacked mid-palate, give this crazy good red 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy over the following two decades! Bravo to the team at Quilceda! SP29-6 -
Quilceda Creek 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon
$199.99Columbia Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
The flagship is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon mostly from Champoux with the balance from Palengat and Wallula vineyards. Crème de cassis, graphite, black licorice, unsmoked tobacco, and hints of chocolate and emerge from this beauty and it continues to gain depth and nuance with time in the glass. Full-bodied, deep, and layered with an incredible purity and elegance on the palate, it's already accessible but has more than enough tannin, depth, and balance to evolve for two decades or more.
