Domaine Saint-Damien 2017 “Cuvée Clovis Saurel” Gigondas
$59.99Southern Rhone Valley France
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
Another remarkable effort is the 2017 Gigondas Clovis Saurel, which is a single vineyard cuvée made from 100% Grenache. Rock star notes of kirsch and mulled dark fruits are intermixed with lots of sappy flowers and incense aromas and flavors. It's deep and full-bodied, with a wonderful sense of elegance and purity and ultra-fine tannins. It's going to benefit from a year or three of bottle age and cruise in cool cellars for 10-15 years. Typical of the single-village Macon style, this wine is unoaked and emphasizes the fresh fruit and floral character of the Chardonnay grape. James Suckling 96 Rating
Impressive complexity and poise from the outset with aromas of sliced peach and nectarine, as well as pear and honeydew. Some wet stones, too. The palate has impressive fluidity with intense, fleshy pears and white peaches, threaded with a savory, toasted-hazelnut edge. Drink or hold. SPA10-1 -

Vinous 95 Rating
The 2018 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru has a delectable nose, exquisitely defined and featuring vivid citrus lemon, apricot and subtle hazelnut scents; a touch of crushed stone becomes evident with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. So much energy is coiled up in this Chablis, and the captivating, mineral-driven finish really gets the most out of this Grand Cru vineyard. Superb. R31-6 SPB2-1 -
Domaine Servin 2020 Chablis Selection Massale Vieilles Vignes
$29.99Burgundy France
Vinous 90-92 Rating
Raised in 30% used oak barrels, the 2020 Chablis Vieilles Vignes “Massale” comes from 60-year-old vines within Les Pargues. It has a crisp nose, more backward than the Les Pargues, offering touches of lime mixed with vervain tea and flint. The palate is fresh and vibrant and shows good depth. Quite spicy, especially toward the finish, which harnesses the richness of the vintage. Very promising.
