Barone Pizzini Animante Brut Franciacorta

Animante is sourced from the estate’s 25 vineyards scattered in different locations across Franciacorta. They cover a total surface area of 47 hectares. The average elevation of the vines is 200/300 meters above sea level, with an average age of 20 years. Subsoils are complex in origin. Some are morainic in nature, while others are enriched by glacial river deposits. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Bianco are sourced from all four distinct sites and harvested in August. Grapes are gently pressed, fermented in stainless steel tanks for six months, and further refined in bottle on natural yeasts for 20-30 months until disgorgement and a dosage mixture of 2-3g/l of organic sugar is added. Beatrice et Pascal Lambert 2018 Domaine Les Chesnaies Chinon ‘Les Terrasses’
$24.99 – $126.00Loire Valley France
Enjoyabilityfactor 91 Rating
Les Terrasses is a cuvée made from 100% of cabernet franc planted on alluvial deposits of siliceous gravel in the Valley of Cravant les Coteaux by carefully respecting the principles of organic agriculture and biodynamics. The grapes of the Terrasses are harvested manually. The wine is then sent to concrete tanks for a 15-day maceration and then fermented using indigenous yeasts only before bottling without fining but with very light filtration. Les Terrasses is a cuvee juicy to the notes of red berries ripe. A wine gourmet with a palace vivid full of juice, crunchy and light tannins and velvety. An easy wine to enjoy as an aperitif, with cold meats or grilled white meat.

Beau Marchais 2019 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard
$84.99Santa Lucia Highlands California
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
I loved these wines from barrel last year, and they didn't disappoint from bottle. Starting with the Santa Lucia Highlands release, the 2019 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard has a deep, nuanced yet powerful style that offers impressive black raspberry and red currant fruits to go with lots of spice, loamy soil, spring flower, and earthy forest floor notes. Gorgeously textured on the palate, this medium to full-bodied Pinot has ripe, polished tannins, a great mid-palate, and the fruit and opulence to drink nicely today yet also evolve for a good 7-8 years, if you're so inclined. Beaulieu Vineyard BV 2018 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
$124.99Napa Valley California
Antonio Galloni Vinous 98 Rating
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve is fabulous. Inky, rich and explosive, the 2018 is a fine addition to the lineage of one of Napa Valley's most historic wines. Inky red fruit, chocolate, leather and licorice all open in the glass. Aeration brings out floral top notes, raspberry and a hint of blood orange. There is plenty of depth, but the tannins are finer than they were a few years ago. Shorter time on the skins and a reduction in barrel fermentations really allow the pedigree of these Rutherford sites to come through. The 2018 is sensational. R35-4 -
Beaulieu Vineyard BV 2019 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
$149.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
Lastly, the Grand Vin 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges De Latour Private Reserve is just about pure perfection, and the fact that there are roughly 12,000 cases is incredible. Classis darker fruits (cassis, currants) as well as chocolate, leafy tobacco, and loamy earth all define the bouquet, and this full-bodied, concentrated, powerful, yet also elegant 2019 has the balance and structure to evolve for decades. It should be relatively easy to find this in the market, and you won't be disappointed. -

Bedrock 2018 Bedrock Vineyard Heritage
$49.99Sonoma Valley California
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Bedrock Vineyard Heritage opens with fantastic perfume: ripe peach, sliced blueberries, warm red cherries, underbrush, violet and dried tangerine peel with nuances of crushed stone, dried hollyhock and exotic spices. Medium-bodied, it floods the mouth with singularly perfumed fruit layers, with a chewy frame and wicked freshness, finishing long and evolving. Wow! Just a pup, give this another year or two in bottle and drink it over the next 10-15 years. SP20-9
