  • Sine Qua Non 2020 Distenta Syrah

    $269.99

    California
    Jeb Dunnuck 97-99 Rating
Tons of red, blue, and black fruits as well as peppery herbs and liquid violet-like nuances emerge from the 2020 Syrah Distenta II, a full-bodied, concentrated, remarkably balanced barrel sample that's based on 83% Syrah, 7.5% Grenache, and the rest Mourvèdre, Petite Sirah, Muscat, and Petit Manseng. I love its mid-palate, it has ripe, sweet tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It's unquestionably a brilliant wine in the making. R9-3 SP19-3

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon turned out beautifully. Rich, sumptuous and incredibly alluring, the 2018 will drink well right out of the gate. Dark red fruit, mocha, spice and licorice are some of the notes that build in the glass. I would give it a few years in bottle, or alternatively open it in advance. Aeration and the passage of time did wonders for the 2018. It spent 20 months in barrel, 85% new.

  • Sinegal Estate 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon

    $79.99$468.00

    Napa Valley California

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon comes mostly from estate fruit and checks in as 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% each of Malbec and Petit Verdot, and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc. There are around 10,000 cases, so you should be able to find bottles, and I suspect it's going to be a great value. Giving up lots of jammy blackberries, tobacco, sweet oak, and subtle cassis, it's medium to full-bodied, has a round, delicious style, and the balance and structure to evolve for 10-15 years.

The 2021 vintage delivers yet another stunning blend with trademark “Slam Dunk” style. This wine is powerful and intensely aromatic out of the glass with fragrances of blueberry, boysenberry and black plum. Dense and expansive on the palate, the Petite Sirah and Zinfandel blend reveals lush, generous flavors of black cherry, cedar and sweet tobacco. The 2021 shows big, upfront primary fruit while revealing refreshing acidity and a supple, long lived finish.

  • Snowden 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch

    $49.99$540.00

    Napa Valley California
    Wine Spectator 91 Rating
This is nicely packed, showing polished cassis and plum reduction notes layered with smoldering tobacco accents and a hint of alder. A touch toothy through the finish as the toast hangs on, but the fruit core is plenty solid, and that should win out with some cellaring. Best from 2021 through 2030.

Juicy and engaging, with heavy mulled raspberry and blood orange flavors coursing through, carried by a bright mineral edge and a flurry of red tea and savory notes. The long, lingering finish has nice latent tension. Drink now through 2030. Only 2,600 cases made.

  • Sojourn 2022 Pinot Noir Rogers Creek Vineyard

    $59.99$300.00

    Sonoma Coast California
A warm 2022 summer brought one of the earliest harvests on record in the Sonoma Coast, with a September heat wave influencing some picking decisions. Cooler pockets of the Sonoma Coast fared well through the heat and the resulting wines offer depth and finesse. Yields were miniscule, with many vineyards breaking records on the low side for cluster weights. The resulting wines have concentrated flavors with tension and length. Pommard clone again dominates the final 2022 blend with earthy tones overlaying layers of red fruit flavors. A portion of each block was co-fermented whole cluster in 2022. Rodgers Creek Vineyard benefitted from the September heat wave, while the fog and wind tempered the microclimate. This vintage offers a broader palate and bold structure.
