A luminous, deep yellow-green color with deep lemon yellow highlights. An elegant nose of butter, grilled hazelnut, cardamom, lime, verbena. When aerated, the wine reveals notes of apricot, blackcurrant, plum, biscuit, with accents of nougat, pineapple and toasted bread. Supple, fresh, fruity and sustained by bright acidity. 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir – all Premier and Grand Cru vineyards.

Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating
Whiffs of fresh-churned butter and honey introduce this powerfully ripe, sun-drenched Chardonnay. The fleshy, voluminous wine shows the heat of the 2019 vintage through concentrated flavors of Meyer lemon and Mirabelle plum. Matured in oak casks for 14 to 18 months (with some new oak), the opulent, spicy sip should drink at peak from 2024 to 2035. R46-2 -

Scents of roses, garrigue and blackberries mark the nose of the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape La Guigasse, still aging in demi-muids at the time of my visit. It's one of those special wines that manages to be full-bodied and concentrated, yet also pillowy-soft, nearly ethereal in the mouth. A bit more tannic and stern on the finish than the 2020 Le Grand Pin, it finishes long, with a lingering note of licorice. 100% Grenache. R18-4
