Chateau Rauzan-Segla 2018 Margaux
$169.99Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
Reminding me of the 2016, the 2018 Château Rauzan-Segla reveals this beautifully fresh, complex bouquet that still has serious richness and depth. Based on 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, raised in 65% new barrels, it offers a dense purple hue to go with gorgeous notes of blackcurrants, spring flowers, cigar wrapper, and sandalwood. A quintessential Margaux with its spicy, complex, floral character, it's full-bodied and has a supple, elegant texture, no hard edges, a solid spine of acidity, and a great, great finish. This is a brilliant, heavenly 2018 to enjoy over the coming 30 years or more. R44-2 SP57-4 -

Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
The 2018 Château Rouget is a beauty and well worth seeking out, especially for those who love the richer, more full-bodied side to Pomerol. Lots of black fruits, chocolate, leafy herbs, and cedar notes emerge from this beauty, which has silky tannins, wonderful overall balance, and a great, great finish. This is one pleasure-bent, sexy 2018 that can be drunk any time over the coming 15 years or more. -
Château Saint Pierre 2020 Saint-Julien
$79.99Bordeaux
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
The 2020 Château Saint-Pierre (Saint-Julien) looks to be beautiful, with a fresher, focused, yet still powerful style that fits nicely into the vintage. Lots of black and blue fruits, crushed stone, and graphite define the nose, and it’s full-bodied, with a great mid-palate, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. It’s going to need time to integrate its oak, but the purity of fruit, quality of the tannins, and balance are all spot on. SPBX-6 -

Coming from Maury and a blend of 40% Grenache and 30% each of Carignan and Syrah, the deep purple colored 2017 Chimeres is a sensational wine in every sense. Kirsch, blueberries, blackberries, crushed rocks, and violet notes all flow to a full-bodied, pure, layered 2017 that’s packed with character, yet stays pure, focused, and perfectly balanced. This cuvée is brought up in equal parts concrete tank and demi-muid, and comes all from black slate soils. Buy a case and drink it over the coming 4-6 years.

Chateau Senejac 2018 Haut-Medoc
$29.99 – $300.00Bordeaux France
Antonio Galloni 93 Rating
The 2018 Sénéjac has an attractive bouquet of blackberry and raspberry fruits, touches of graphite and pressed flowers. I admire the precision of this Haut-Médoc. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, well-judged new oak (25%) and a touch of dark chocolate toward the finish. This has real panache and class and comes highly recommended.

Chateau Senejac 2019 Haut-Medoc
$29.99 – $288.00Bordeaux France
Decanter Magazine 91 Rating
Extremely juicy cassis and enticing hedgerow here, this is bright, perky, less flesh on the bones than 2018 but with plenty of character. It settles in the glass, and you feel the build up of tannins. Will be interesting to taste in bottle, there is real potential here.

From the team at Ausone, the 2016 Château Simard is made from 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc brought up in just 30% new French oak. It’s a medium-bodied, classic, nicely balanced Saint-Emilion that has loads of upfront charm. Offering up notes of dark fruits and tobacco, it has an easygoing, rounded texture and is geared for drinking over the coming decade or so. It’s a delicious, satisfying effort.
