  • Antigal 2017 One La Dolores Vineyard Malbec Gualtallary

    $49.99$240.00

    Mendoza Argentina
    Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating
Deep blackberry, cassis, prune, vanilla and graphite aromas open this powerfully built Malbec that's fully saturated and fully oaked. Toasty blackberry flavors are distinctly chocolaty on the back side. The wine tastes of black licorice, café mocha and black pepper on the finish. Drink 2023–2030. regular $59.99

  • Antinori 2015 Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino

    $74.99

    Tuscany Italy
    James Suckling 94 Rating
Quite reductive and earthy, but opens to show tidy cranberries and glazed red cherries. Hints of citrus and spice. Full-bodied and rich, but there’s savory edge to the plush, juicy tannins, and lots of weight and density. Drink from 2024. R10-4 SP49-5

This opens with balsamic aromas of camphor and crushed mint that mingle with ripe black-skinned fruit and coconut. Full-bodied and already rather accessible, the smooth, concentrated palate offers dried cherry, licorice and espresso alongside enveloping, fine-grained tannins.

  • Antinori 2020 Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore

    $134.99$720.00

    Bolgheri Italy
    Wine Advocate 96 Rating
The Marchesi Antinori 2020 Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso sees Cabernet Franc at over 30% of the blend in this vintage, with the rest going to Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% to 20% to Merlot. Matarocchio was not produced this year, and this wine benefits from the extra Cabernet Franc as a result. The 2019 and 2021 vintages of Guado al Tasso are quite concentrated and rich, whereas 2020 is leaner in texture, along the lines of the edition we saw made in 2010. There was rain in September. Managing Director Renzo Cotarella says he would not describe 2020 as a hot vintage because the rain did pose challenges at the end of the growing season. In Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, budbreak is earlier than in other appellations, and the growing season is longer as a result. This is a benefit to the international varieties used here. The wine shows nice richness and intensity. The Cabernet Franc definitely comes through and adds the characteristic vertical lift and linearity that the grape is known for. You get black fruit, spice, white pepper and no signs of bitter stems or bramble. Sweet, almost milky tannins are interlocked with fresh acidity to give this wine good cellaring potential. The new oak was dialed back a bit in this vintage. SPBX-6

  • Antinori 2020 Solaia

    $399.99$2,100.00

    Tuscany Italy
    Antonio Galloni 97 Rating
The 2020 Solaia is an infant. I expected a more exuberant wine, but the 2020 is built along more classic lines. Black cherry, plum, gravel, incense, smoke, pencil shavings and spice all open effortlessly. As always, Solaia is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine, but it is a Cabernet that is distinctly Italian, with plenty of Tuscan acid and structure driving through the mid-palate and into the finish. The 2020 is a terrific example of the recent stylistic shift at Antinori. In the past, richness and opulence were qualities of a vintage that would have been amplified in the vineyard and cellar. Today, the aim is to capture a more balanced expression of these kinds of vintages, and that very much comes through. SPBX-6

  • Antinori 2020 Tignanello

    $159.99$900.00

    Tuscany Italy
    Antonio Galloni 96 Rating
The 2020 Tignanello is so primary, so intensely fruit-driven, that it almost tastes like a barrel sample. A burst of red Sangiovese fruit opens first, followed by hints of blood orange, cinnamon, spice, dried flowers and mocha develop later. Time in the glass brings out striking dimensions. In 2020, Tignanello is wonderfully sleek and racy, with fine tannins that lie below a core of bright, sculpted fruit. The balance here is just sublime. I can’t wait to revisit the 2020 with age.

  • Antinori 2021 Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore

    $169.99$810.00

    Bolgheri Italy
    Antonio Galloni 98 Rating
The 2021 Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso is a very beautiful wine, but also quite a departure from the style that made it famous years ago. Readers will find an especially polished Guado al Tasso, a wine that emphasizes finesse more than power. Silky tannins wrap around a core of black cherry fruit, licorice, spice, mocha and new leather. Bright, saline undertones extend the exquisite finish. There’s more Cabernet Franc in the blend these days, and that very much comes through in the wine’s crazy aromatic presence and feel. The 2021 spent 16 months in wood, three months in used French oak barrels during the malolactic fermentation and then 14 months in barrel (80% new) for the rest of its aging. Gorgeous.

  • Antinori 2022 Cervaro della Sala

    $74.99$378.00

    Umbria Italy
Cervaro della Sala” by Antinori has a graceful appearance with straw yellow tones, with youthful greenish reflections. The nose is complex, variegated on intense hints of citrus peel and candied orange, notes of acacia flowers and spicy nuances of vanilla, within a frame that refers to a certain underlying minerality. The sip is broad and soft, the palate rich in saline sensations that blend with hints of buttery pastry and an evident toasted hazelnut. It can surprisingly marry plateaus of sea urchins and bulot, or face a mustard poulet de Bresse.
