Guigal 2019 Gigondas
$39.99 – $198.00Southern Rhone Valley France
Wine Spectator 91 Rating
Understated style, with light incense and worn cedar notes running along the edges of the slightly dried currant, raspberry and red cherry fruit flavors. The cedary edge lingers longest in the end. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2023 through 2030.

A good advertisement for the 2021 vintage in the Rhone this has stacks of red fruit and spice aromas, including a touch of pepper. Notes of licorice and sandalwood on the palate where the restrained tannins neatly fit with the generous fruit. Moderately dry finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.

Jean-Claude Marsanne 2022 Les Ruisseaux Viognier

Enjoyabilityfactor 92 Rating
‘Les Ruisseaux’ Viognier comes from Lieu-dit Le Gat. Whole clusters are pressed gently. Fermented in 50% stainless steel tank and 50% 228L barrels for 4 weeks. Wine finishes malolactic fermentation. Aged in 50% stainless steel tank and 50% 228L barrels for 1 year (no new oak). “Un Ruisseau” means “a stream.” A stream passes next to the vineyard and over many years has moved granite deposits from Saint Joseph to this area.

Jean-Louis Chave Selection 2018 Crozes-Hermitage Silene
$34.99Northern Rhone Valley France
Vinous 93 Rating
Inky ruby. Pungent, mineral-accented black and blue fruit qualities on the nose, along with hints of olive, licorice and peony that build in the glass. Supple and weighty on the palate, offering expansive blackberry and boysenberry flavors that become firmer with air. The floral note comes back strong on the penetrating finish, which shows outstanding persistence and fine-grained, well-knit tannins. 60% of this fruit was sourced from the granitic soils and steep slopes in the northern sector of the appellation and the other 40% came from the south, where the soils are lighter, based mostly on limestone clay and covered in large alluvial stones and smaller river rocks. R27-1 -
Jean-Marc Brocard 2022 Sainte Claire Chablis
$24.99 – $264.00Burgundy France
Decanter Magazine 93 Rating
Some of the vines here are over 70 years old. Even with a reticent, understated nose one can sense the energy and precision in this wine. There’s a lovely, creamy texture on the palate, with bright citrus notes and a long, lingering, savoury, mineral finish. A very fine example of Chablis which would compete very effectively against many a premier cru.
Must be ordered.
