An impeccably made sparkling wine from this talented winemaker, the 2022 Brut Nature comes all from Mourvèdre, made in the classic méthode champenoise style. Apple and stone fruits, some spice and floral notes, medium body, a juicy, elegant mousse, and a clean, crisp finish all define this sparkler. It’s going to evolve for 4-6 years or so, although I’d give it a year or two and drink up.

Chateau Ducluzeau 2016 Red Blend Listrac
$29.99 – $150.00Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 90 Rating
From the team at Ducru-Beaucaillou, the 2016 Château Ducluzeau is possibly one of the finest Listracs produced in any vintage. This beauty offers a medium ruby color to go with a terrific perfume of sweet cherry and dark fruits that are supported by loads of leafy herbs, damp earth, and even hints of graphite. Shockingly deep, medium-bodied, and beautifully concentrated, with ripe tannins, it shines for its purity and nuance but offers serious intensity as well. It’s a fabulous wine to drink over the coming 10-15 years.

Chateau Feytit-Clinet 2020 Pomerol
$99.99Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
One of the best kept secrets in Pomerol is the quality of the wines from Jeremy Chasseuil’s tiny estate located between Trotanoy and Latour à Pomerol, just across the street from the Clinet sector. Coming from a 6.32-hectare parcel and a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2020 Chateau Feytit-Clinet sports a dense purple hue to go with blockbuster aromatics of ripe black cherries, cassis, chocolaty oak, leafy herbs, and damp earth. Full-bodied and concentrated, with remarkable purity and ultra-fine tannins, this utterly brilliant Pomerol will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and will evolve for 20-25 years or more if well-stored. Chateau Fonplegade 2020 Bordeaux Blend St Emilion Grand Cru Classe

Utterly classic notes of red and black cherries, chocolate, tobacco, and spicy wood emerge from the 2020 Chateau Fonplegade, a medium-bodied, pure, balanced, elegant Saint-Emilion that comes from a gorgeous terroir on the Cote Pavie. Based on 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc that was raised in 50% new oak, it has building tannins, a layered, mouth-filling texture, and outstanding length. Give bottles 2-4 years in the cellar and enjoy over the following 10-15. It’s a complex, satisfying, impeccably made 2020.

Chateau Gruaud Larose 2018 Saint-Julien
$129.99Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
Based on 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Château Gruaud Larose sports a dense purple hue as well as a stunning nose of pure crème de cassis, cedar pencil shavings, blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, and a liquid rock-like sense of minerality. This dense, almost broodingly backward, concentrated Saint-Julien has flawless balance, a remarkable sense of purity, masses of tannins, and one hell of a great finish. Seemingly almost from a more austere year (say 2000 or 2010), it's not going to hit maturity for at least a decade and should cruise in cold cellars for 20-30 years. It's a brilliant wine! R7-4 SP55-6
