PerUs 2016 Alessio
$289.99Napa Valley California
Enjoyabilityfactor 97 Rating
This flamboyant Bordeaux style blend is a combination of 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon once again displays Russell Bervan's genius in blending. A nod to the original vintage of PerUs, this wine reveals the continued love affair between Sugar Loaf Mountain's Bordeaux varietals and Tench Vineyard's Cabernet Sauvignon. Combining these two epic vineyard sites once again display that sometimes the sum is truly greater than its parts. SP22-2 -
Piero Benevelli 2016 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte
$59.99Piedmont Italy
Vinous 95 Rating
The 2016 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte is gorgeous. Dried herbs, crushed flowers, mint, licorice, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco give the 2016 striking aromatic nuance to match its mid-weight personality. There is a sense of translucence in the 2016 that is just compelling. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2016 has a ton of richness that emerges over time. The Le Coste spent 25 months in 40HL cask. I loved it. R2-2 -

PlumpJack Winery 2021 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
$179.99 – $1,872.00Oakville Napa Valley California
Vinous 95 Rating
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is rich, racy and super-expressive. Silky and deep, with notable resonance, the 2021 offers up dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol, new leather and licorice. Today, it is a very young wine in need of cellaring, but its
potential is evident. Dollops of Petit Verdot and Malbec round out the blend. This should be positively stellar

Poggio Antico 2015 Brunello di Montalcino
$69.99Tuscany Italy

Poggio Antico brings us a classic expression of Sangiovese in its 2015 Brunello di Montalcino. The warm vintage has shaped more density and volume in the fruit, but fundamentally this wine holds tight to the bright and fresh taste profile that is characteristic of Brunello. The key is the acidity that remains an integral and important element in the fundamental architecture of this wine. That natural crispness serves to underline lively fruit flavors of wild cherry and pressed violets. Background tones of earth and black licorice also appear. The team at Poggio Antico, located at one of the highest altitudes in the appellation (from 500 to 550 meters above sea level), has worked well to preserve the cool climate characteristics in this very warm and sunny vintage. A bright red color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is floral and aromatic of preserved strawberries, baby powder, and herbes de Provence. Medium-bodied, it has refined ripe tannins, even acidity, and a clean, stony textured finish. A lovely and charming wine, it’s drinking well now and will drink well over the coming 8-10 years. Poggio Antico 2019 Madre Toscana
$44.99 – $240.00Tuscany Italy
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
A 50-50 blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 Madre is a fun wine and one that I readily recommend, especially for pasta night with the family at the kitchen table. This is a medium to full-bodied red with lots of pretty layering of dark fruit, spice, tar and cured leather. The wine is never too savory or spicy, and in fact, it makes terrific use of its natural primary intensity. It also shows good richness and a smooth entry to the palate.
