Robust wine with fine tannins. Black and spicy fruits and peppery, which is typical for Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its reputation is firmly established. It can be drunk at 2 years of age, when it will give off pleasant fruity aromas. The taste improves with age, revealing a stronger tannin structure and intense, deep bouquets. Everyone will enjoy this Châteauneuf-du-Pape at various degrees of maturity.

The first impression is as invigorating as a sea breeze. I love the interplay of mirabelle, grapefruit and lychee fruit with minty freshness and waxiness from lees contact. And all this is welded to a beautifully proportioned palate with plenty of structure, the acidity bright and the mousse animating. Very salty finish that pulls you back for more. A cuvee of 41% chardonnay, 33% pinot noir and 26% pinot meunier. Of these, 15% fermented in oak and 85% in stainless steel. The final blend contained 36% reserve perpetual and 10% reserve wines of the 2012 – 2018 vintage from oak. The dosage is 7 g/l. Drink or hold.

Lu Rappaio 2022 Masca del Tacco Primitivo
$24.99 – $126.00Primitivo di Manduria Apulia Italy
Masca del Tacco is produced in Puglia from sapling vines that grow on flat soils rich in iron and limestone, influenced by sea winds. The vinification takes place in steel vats at a controlled temperature, followed by a period of aging in steel and barrels of different woods. In the glass the wine appears ruby red with purple hints. On the nose there are hints of violets, wild blackberries, ripe strawberries and rosemary. The sip is soft and structured. Ideal with dishes with mushrooms, roasts and grilled meats.

Luca 2020 Malbec Paraje Altamira
$27.99 – $132.00Mendoza Argentina
A rich purple in the glass, the nose offers ripe plum, gentle violet notes and aromas from the aging process along with hints of herb. In the mouth, it’s juicy and expansive with polished, rounded, sweet tannins that enhance the volume of the palate without losing their slight grip. Relaxed and flavorful with good balance and well-judged barrel-aging, the palate also has a touch of chalk.

A ripe but suggestive nose of dark cherries, dark chocolate, hot stones, cassis, brambleberry pie and bark. Yet, on the palate, this paints an altogether different picture, in which sleek tannins carry fresh layers of forest fruit long, through a compact, full-bodied palate. Powerful acidity steers it through to a restrained but chewy finish. Drink from 2024. SP44-1 -

Lucie Dutron 2021 Macon Villages
$29.99 – $156.00Maconnais Burgundy France
Enjoyabiltyfactor 92 Rating
The Lucie Dutron Macon Villages is 100% Chardonnay from sustainably farmed vines located in Viré, Péronne, and Verzé. The vines are 20-45 years old and grow in limestone and clay soil. We were surprised by the wine’s richness and intensity. Pale gold with green flecks, the nose is joyfully expressive, white peach and citrus notes and white flowers jump from the glass. The palate is lush and has weight. Smooth, round, supple and complex with a surprisingly long finish. Flavors are fresh and lively mirroring the aromatics.
