Tommasi 2019 Amarone
$59.99 – $300.00Veneto Italy
Vinous 95 Rating
The 2019 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico entices with a darkly alluring bouquet of crushed stones and dusty violet florals, accentuating notes of blackberries and hints of candied orange. This is sleek and racy in style, with lifted textures and polished red and blue fruits that flow across a stream of lively acidity. Remaining remarkably fresh through the finish, it tapers off with a confectionary air, leaving a resonance of violet pastille and crunchy tannins to linger on.

Tooth & Nail 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon
$19.99 – $216.00Paso Robles California
Wine Advocate 92 Rating
The 2021 Tooth & Nail Squad Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep ruby-purple color and aromas of cassis, garrigue, pencil shavings, cedar and soy sauce. The full-bodied palate has a deep core of fruit, a soft, grainy frame and plenty of freshness, making this very easy to drink and a showstopper at this price point!

Torre de Oña 2014 Finca Martelo
$29.99Rioja Spain
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
This wine is released as Martelo in Spain but that be renamed as Finca Martelo in the international market. So, I tasted the 2014 again but this time labeled as 2014 Finca Martelo. The wine hasn't changed much since the last time I tasted it; it's aromatic and showy, with elegance and poise, nicely balanced and perfumed with a medium body and very fine tannins, intense flavors and a long finish. It's evolving very slowly, and I wouldn't be surprised if it made old bones. R11-1 SP39-1 -
Torres 2015 Salmos
$39.99 – $210.00Priorat Spain
Wine Advocate 91 Rating
Along with the 2014, I also tasted the 2015 Salmos, which is from an earlier and riper year. It's a similar blend of Cariñena, Garnacha and Syrah from the same vineyards and produced in a similar way, with fermentation in stainless steel and aged in French barriques for 14 months. The wine showed more finesse and freshness than the 2014, and there is more depth and complexity here too. There are some tannins that would welcome food and/or some more time in bottle. Very tasty. Intense ruby red color with fruity hints of cherry and small red berries. Blackcherry, dried flowers, spice and licorice lift up from the bouquet. The fruit returns to the mouth, where the sip is sliding of excellent persistence.

Torrevento 2019 Bolonero Rosso Castel del Monte
$14.99 – $144.00Puglia Italy
93 Rating Luca Maroni
The Torrevento Bolonero Castel Del Monte 2019 is a blend of the local Aglianico and Nero di Troia grapes, all from older vines and all vinified only in stainless steel. This zone is notable for producing fiery, full-bodied reds, the sun always shining, brilliant tomato country. But what Torrevento has managed to do is build some elegance and refinement into this not-so-simple wine, thus earning this wine the prestigious Tre Bicchieri status.

Torrin 2013 Tsundere
$89.99Paso Robles
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
Another blockbuster, the 2013 Tsundere shows the more pretty style of the vintage, but certainly doesn't pull any punches with its graphite, black fruits, scorched earth and charred meat aromas and flavors. A blend of 30% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Tannat aged in 70% new barrels, it has a full-bodied, pedal to the metal character on the palate as well as ripe tannin and a big mid-palate. Drink this hedonistic 2013 anytime over the coming decade or more. SP15-1
