Deeply colored, the 2018 Château D'Armailhac is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot brought up in 40% new barrels. Cassis, hints of blue fruits, graphite, charcoal, and spicy oak notes all emerge from this deeply colored effort. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, it offers ripe, present tannins, terrific freshness, and a great finish. Rack-1

Owner Philippe Raoux has created both a major sculpture park and a series of impressive vintages at this estate at the western end of Margaux. This vintage is one of the best yet, rich and vibrant with great fruits and solid tannins. It needs serious aging, so drink from 2025.

  • Chateau D’Issan 2020 Margaux

    $89.99

    Bordeaux France
    Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
The 2020 Chateau D’Issan is a stunningly good Margaux, and this is another estate that seems to producer brilliant wines every vintage. Pulling from 51.04 hectares of vines and a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec, it’s a selection of just 45% of the total production and spent 18 months in 50% new and 50% once-used French oak. Beautiful, spiced-laced red and black fruits, chocolate, smoked tobacco, and incense notes define the aromatics. These carry to a medium to full-bodied restrained, elegant 2020 with terrific mid-palate density, ripe, velvety tannins, and terrific overall balance. This is one of those beautiful, classic wines that grows on you with time in the glass, and hats off to Emmanuel Cruse for yet another incredible wine. It’s going to evolve for another 25-30 years if well-stored. Best After 2026 SPBX-6

  • Chateau d’Oupia 2021 Les Heretique Red Blend

    $13.99$144.00

    Languedoc Roussillon France
A blend of Carignan & Syrah. The Carignan vines average 40 years in age, with some of them being over 100 years old. The fruit is sustainably farmed and harvested partly by hand and partly by machine. Half of the Carignan is vinified traditionally–destemmed and fermented in a used barrel and macerated with skins for 30 days–and half as whole clusters. Those wines are then blended with the Syrah and aged further.
