    An impeccably made sparkling wine from this talented winemaker, the 2022 Brut Nature comes all from Mourvèdre, made in the classic méthode champenoise style. Apple and stone fruits, some spice and floral notes, medium body, a juicy, elegant mousse, and a clean, crisp finish all define this sparkler. It’s going to evolve for 4-6 years or so, although I’d give it a year or two and drink up.

    This Bordeaux blanc is made from old Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle vines planted in complex soils of clay and limestone on fissured rock. The wine is bone-dry, even if your first whiff of sunny, slightly tropical fruit leads you to expect otherwise. On the palate, it is luscious and mouth-coating with generous passion fruit and lychee, and yet it is racy at the same time—constructed along a sturdy spine of chalk and acidity, it bears the classic Sauvignon Blanc notes of lime and grass. This blanc is astoundingly versatile at table. Exquisite with seafood, it is also perfect on its own. Value of the year? No. Value of the century!

Recently acquired by the Glotin family, the estate is one the referent chateau of the appellation, for the quality of its wines, as well as its capacity to produce substantial volumes. Lively plum and cherry fruit is mixed with a brambly hint. Savory and bay accents on the finish.
