Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Bedrock Vineyard Heritage opens with fantastic perfume: ripe peach, sliced blueberries, warm red cherries, underbrush, violet and dried tangerine peel with nuances of crushed stone, dried hollyhock and exotic spices. Medium-bodied, it floods the mouth with singularly perfumed fruit layers, with a chewy frame and wicked freshness, finishing long and evolving. Wow! Just a pup, give this another year or two in bottle and drink it over the next 10-15 years.
Bedrock Wine Co. 2012 Evangelho Vineyard Heritage Contra Costa County $49.99
Stephen Tanzer 93 Rating
Opaque ruby. Floral aromas of black raspberry and cherry pit, with complicating spice cake and mineral nuances. Round and fleshy on entry, then more energetic in the mid-palate, offering vibrant red and dark berry flavors with no rough edges. This seamless, sweet blend finishes with excellent vivacity and terrific length.
Bedrock Wine Co. 2015 Evangelho Vineyard Heritage Contra Costa County $49.99
Wine Advocate 93 Rating
From Contra Costa County, the 2015 Proprietary Red Evangelho Heritage comes from directly rooted Zinfandel, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Palomino, Alicante and Mission all planted in the 1890s on what is basically a sandy bench. The briary intensity of the Zinfandel is well-displayed, but then the blue and black fruits seem to jump out as do some dusty/loamy soil notes, forest floor, underbrush, pepper and background smoky notes. This is rich, floral, heady, intriguing and provocative. Drink it over the next 5-7 years..

Bedrock Wine Co. 2017 Evangelho Vineyard Heritage Contra Costa County $49.99

Bedrock Wine Co. 2015 Zinfandel Esola Vineyard Russian River Valley California $39.99
Robert Parker 93 Rating
The 2015 Zinfandel Esola Vineyard comes from the heart of Amador. This is a big, briary, beefy, muscular wine with a full body, plenty of heady red and black fruits, tar, earth and pepper. It is a beauty and the fruit is where it’s at – as it is pure and rich, following through for at least 45+ seconds on the palate. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.
