Join us on December 29th to explore Paso Robles
Just recently in November we spent a week exploring Paso Robles for our first time. It’s really quite unique and an incredible learning experience for those in the wine business or those who want to relax and enjoy what Paso Robles has to offer. We are going to feature two wineries that we thought offered something special:
Eberle Winery & Daou Vineyards.
Daou Vineyards 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Paso Robles California
This lovely, bright and cheery Sauvignon Blanc proffers tantalizing aromas of grapefruit, pineapple and gooseberry, with hints of quince. Floral notes of lemongrass and acacia are balanced with lychee and wet stone. Classily structured and elegantly styled, a veritable explosion of crisp and juicy fruit flavors burst upon the palate. Lemon chiffon, key lime pie and kiwi are accented with green apple, white nectarine and pineapple. Decisively refreshing, this wine finishes lean and clean with long lingering notes of dragon fruit, citrus and passion fruit.
Eberle 2021 Viognier Eberle Estate Vineyard Paso Robles California
Eberle’s Viognier has aromas and flavors of honeydew, tangerine, kiwi, lichi, and jasmine. Our Viognier is a very expressive wine with a lively nose, briny acidity, and balanced sweetness. Pairs well with all types of cuisine from sushi to Pad Thai, carrot and parsnip bisque, or Gary’s favorite, grilled scallops.
Daou Vineyards 2021 Rose Paso Robles California
Made from Grenache grapes in the classic Provençale style, the 2021 Rosé of Grenache presents a pale flamingo-apricot hue and a fragrant, floral nose. Aromas of freshly sliced peaches, hibiscus and hyacinth reveal accents of nectarine and orange zest. Hints of honeysuckle, orange blossom, crushed rose petal and pineapple round out the enticing bouquet. The palate is exceptionally clean and refreshing, with flavors of peach, mango, apricot, and honeydew melon accompanied by notes of lemon chiffon, apricot, papaya and kiwi. A long, luxuriant finish lingers with juicy essences of peach, strawberry and cherry.
Eberle 2021 Zinfandel Paso Robles California
From this storied producer comes a newer, fresh style of Zinfandel, sources from three vineyards. Aromas of blackberry jam, wet stone and cracked pepper make for a complex nose. The palate is tense in structure, with creamy flavors of boysenberry and more peppery spice.
Eberle 2021 Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles Central Coast California
This is a classically made, satisfying style of Paso Robles Cab. Aromas of roasted meats and blackberry jam combine smoke and fruit on the nose. The palate shows fresher berries alongside flavors of cracked pepper and graphite.
DAOU Vineyards 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Paso Robles California
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is blended with 23% Petit Verdot, made entirely with free-run juice, and it will be matured for 16 months in 50% new French oak. Opaque ruby, it offers pure aromas of cassis, violet, grilled meats, desert sage and bell pepper. The full-bodied palate is powdery, energetic and detailed with a long, layered finish.
Eberle 2022 Muscat Canelli Paso Robles California
This 2022 Muscat Canelli has aromas white peach and jasmine blossoms. Mouthwatering Meyer lemon with candied ginger to give you a balance between sweetness and acidity. Enjoy Muscat Canelli with fresh fruits such as peaches, pears, and melons. Or adventure out with a spicy dish. The sweetness of Muscat Canelli can help balance the heat of spicy dishes, making it a perfect pairing for cuisines like Thai or Indian.
