Domaine Girard is located in Verdigny, one of the most renowned villages in the Sancerre appellation. They have been producing wine for over 10 generations. 70% of its 16 ha are cultivated with Sauvignon Blanc. Stunningly aromatic. Very pale in color but super explosive flavor. A rigid backbone of acid and tons of flint slate and wet stone on the palate. This had tons of complexity and salivating mouth filling quality. This is the perfect accompaniment to seafood especially of the oyster variety. The name is after the type of soil this one in particular was grown in.

Maison Jaffelin 2019 Saint-Romain Blanc White Burgundy France $34.99
The grapes are harvested by hand and then directly pressed in a pneumatic press. Alcoholic fermentation takes place entirely in French oak barrels, of which 30% are new. The lees are not stirred (bâtonnage) during ageing, which lasts 11 months. Pale white appearance with green tints. Fine and delicate on the nose, with accents of white flowers. It shows a nice mineral character on the palate, which rounds out over time.
