Description
Pecorino “Joco” from the Fontezoppa winery is a white wine from the Marche region made with the Pecorino grape variety, combined with a small percentage of Incrocio Bruni, a variety created in the 30s, crossing Sauvignon Blanc and Verdicchio and grown almost exclusively in the Marche region. It is a white wine with good structure and aromatic complexity, which impresses with its intensity and vibrant freshness. Its pleasantly smooth sip makes it very suitable to combine with seafood first courses.
Pecorino “Joco” was born in the magnificent hilly area of the hinterland of Civitanova Marche. The vineyards are cultivated between the Adriatic coast and the first reliefs of the Blue Mountains. The estate covers a total of 35 hectares, divided into various plots, located in the municipal territories of Civitanova and Serrapetrona. The Pecorino and Incrocio Bruni vineyards are cultivated with the Guyot system with a planting density of 5000 plants per hectare at an altitude of about 450 meters above sea level, with a sunny exposure to the south. The medium-textured soils, composed of sandstone and limestone and the Mediterranean climate, mitigated by the gentle sea breezes, proved to be perfect for ripening the white grapes. The bunches are harvested by hand and after soft pressing they proceed with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine rests for a few months in steel before being bottled.
The “Joco” of the Fontezoppa winery is a white wine with a strong territorial imprint, obtained with native grapes of the area, with the aim of enhancing the best varietal characteristics. The color is bright straw yellow. The olfactory picture opens with delicate floral notes, aromas of grapefruit, ripe yellow fruit, peach, pineapple and tropical hints. On the palate it has a good structure, with a rich fruit in the center of the mouth, which accompanies the sip towards a persistent finish of lively freshness.
